Meet the researchers driving innovation in Energy Efficiency Engineering
Professor & Director

Mahmoud Alzoubi
Ph.D., P.Eng., Assistant Professor
Robert M. Buchan Department of Mining
Dr. Alzoubi is an Assistant Professor at Queen’s University in the Robert M. Buchan Department of Mining (home appointment) with a cross-appointment to the Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering. He earned his Ph.D. in Mining and Materials Engineering from McGill University and an M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the Masdar Institute of Khalifa University, in collaboration with MIT.
His research expertise lies in multi-scale and multi-physics transport phenomena in porous media applied to mining applications, including fluid mechanics, conjugate heat and mass transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid-structure interaction. This expertise is built upon a strong interdisciplinary experience and background in both mining and mechanical engineering, which has shaped his practical and theoretical approach to solving complex engineering challenges in the mining sector.
